Red uakari monkey research since 2002

The Peruvian red uakari monkey (Cacajao calvus ucayalii), also known as the ‘bald uakari’ or ‘uacari’, is threatened by hunting, logging and habitat disturbance in the rainforests of Peru. The Red Uakari Monkey Project (RUMP) aims to investigate and help conserve this striking primate.
